Hi, I am new to soap making. Last fall I wandered into a BnB store to get my DIL a birthday gift and in the process got myself a bar of soap. I though to myself "I bet I could do this" and googled soapmaking. I read a lot online and watched you tube for about 2 wks and then ordered some M&P. In that time period I also asked a friend for a demo. I decided I did not really want to do CP, but had a lot of fun with the M&P. Meanwhile, my dermatitis, which I always have struggled with, got significantly worse this yr. So I studied a lot about that issue on the net and concluded that a more natural product would be a help to me. I bought some soap from my friend and that helped, and I also decided that the skin irritations that my husband deals with might be helped with a change of soap. So I once more looked into CP soapmaking, and decided, somewhat hesitantly, that I wanted to try it. I assembled my supplies and chose my recipe and, taking a deep breath, made my first batch. It worked! In fact, it was exciting. So I have made about 12 batches so far and look forward to learning more.
