i made my first soap today.

took a peep just now (after 8 hours) and it has a layer of "oil". roblem:
will see how it will turn out tomorrow...

It is just a thin layer of oil beads or a thicker layer of oil? If it is a thicker layer of oil, the soap probably separated. I would probably rebatch it in an old slow cooker. Always use a lye calculator, no mater where the recipe originates and weigh all of the ingredients. I use a digital scale.

still oil on the batch after 20 hours... so i attempt to cook it. but i do not think it turn out well.

so, i made another attempt today...

"mayonnaise" like @ 0hr (room temperature)

"jelly" like @ 3½hrs (warmer...)

question: is this normal?

2nd attempt

unmolded after hours... a little oily

and cut... like butter

what is the curing time?, i am using...
olive pomace 30%
RBD plam oil 30%
RBM coconut oil 30%
castor oil 10%
SF 8%

Way to go! It looks perfect! Try to give it 6 weeks if you can. And make another batch in the meantime so that you have a rotation going - that makes the wait so much easier!
