Hello every one :D another newbie here, I just wanted to introduce myself and maybe pick your brains (in a nice way) I’m fairly new to soap making, ok I’ve did the melt and pour method for a while but I’m wanting to up my game… with the holidays and (lots of) birthdays) just around the corner I’m wanting to make soaps and bath bombs, lip balms etc for my family as gifts.

Just a quick question about oils when using oils eg: almond oil, can you use it in a carrier oil or just as it is? I’m wondering if the carrier will affect the oil and the soap in some way.

Hugs

Karen :D

Hi Karen!

Welcome! I am a newbie too and this is definitely the place to be. I have learned so much here... lots of good information and the gathered amount of experience here in all matters of soaping is amazing.

Welcome!
I would stick with MP soap for now. It takes practice and time to make CP soaps. You would not be ready for the holidays, even if you start now.

Hello and welcome, Karen! :)

I agree with Soapbuddy- it's cutting it kinda close to the holidays for CP if you're just beginning to learn. By all means, though, do go ahead and use this time for research and learning and practice, but don't stress youself over trying to have a good batch of CP made, cured and ready to go by the holidays. This time of year can be stressful enough on its own, so no sense asking for more if you know what I mean. I would take the less stressful route by sticking to MP soaps at least for the upcoming holidays as far as soap goes, as well as making lip balms and bath bombs, etc.. - the kind of stuff that doesn't take a huge chunk of time and patience and pratice as CP does. Anhydrous body butters, sachets, and perfume sprays are good gift-giving ideas (and less time consuming), too.

IrishLass :)
