Gothic Summer

This one I’m calling Gothic Summer. It was an experiment using only two colors instead of multiple. I got the most diverse designs where I varied the amount of batter in the layers. Colored w activated charcoal and scented with pine, lemongrass, and peppermint essential oils. Yay!
the two slices w the 3 hearts are my new series called “odds and ends”. The hearts are the left over batter I squeeze out of my bottle liners. And the ends are... the ends.

Hopefully the EO stick around. I tried mixing w kaolin clay, but I think it gave the soap a grainy texture.

Is your kaolin grainy? I've got some fine grain kaolin and haven't noticed it making my soap gritty, though I've just used it a few times.

It’s a pretty subtle graininess. If I KNEW it would actually help my EO to last longer, I’d tolerate it %100!!! If not, for the design and texture aspect, I’d skip it.
