24+hrs old. I'm about to unmould it. Not what I expected the colors to be, but I'm just going with it.

I found it easiest to just give up on white. And not stress out the few brain cells I have left.

It's alright, we'll make allowances for ya! Afterall, it must be hard being a man! Haha....

I'm not giving up on white, I'm just not going to be disappointed when it doesn't happen, anymore

I've gotten really white bars when I go 100% CO and add some super pearly white mica either to the lye water or at trace. Makes a really nice bar. Has to be pure CO though; I tried to reproduce the white lavender soap I made but used a lavender infused CO and it turned out off-white.

THanks Kyles.... I have just cut it, and I'm not happy. Something has gone wrong, I'm about to post a 'Troubleshooting' Thread, hopefully someone can tell me what's happened...

I can't tell if it's the lighting or what I see is the true color of your soap, but if it looks pinkish/mauve, it's the FO. I've tried a couple vendors' Cool Waters and get mauve discoloration. I haven't monkeyed around enough with the ppo to see if it will not discolor at a certain rate and I haven't tried to TD it out. I'm not very good with TD- I always get flecks or streaks. I've tried white mica but TD gives a brilliant white that you don't get with mica.

Castile soaps are very white, as are all lard soaps. I think Crisco makes a white soap (I think- I don't use it personally). Can anyone say- would an OO/CO/crisco soap be pretty white?

Crisco actually goes pink-ish.

Thanks Carebear. I was eyeballing Crisco today in the store because I've never used it in soap (great moisturizer, though). Maybe I'll try it when I make a floral scent, to use the pinkish color.

I use Crisco at 10-15% with in a blend of other oils and haven't noticed any issues - those soaps I tend to color, though.

When I used it at 25% with 75% coconut oil, though, it was noticeable. An amazing soap lather-wise, and my testers loved it, but after a few months it got DOS whereas other alternatives didn't - so that formula went in the archives.
