Dry lather

So my shave soap lather seems to dry up 1/2 way through the shave. Add a little water and it comes back slick again. Is this just not using enough water in the brush or a different problem?

You'll have to share the recipe for some feedback. And maybe if you can liken your technique in lathering to another known soap so we can gauge a bit how much water you're using
