@dibbles thanks for your experience. That mica from NS is the one I want to try.
@Jersey Girl I will see if I can find some glycerine cheap locally. I’ve got a powerful little froth mixer, but I really want to have some ready made, if possible. So the glycerine is ok for water soluble?
Yes, you can use glycerine in water or oil soluble

I love my TD from Brambleberry and how white my soap gets. Just between you and me -- shh, don't tell anyone -- I just dump it into my batter and stir well. It's the same reason I like working with micas, no hassle of pre-mixing in another medium.

TD makes me miserable lol. The best way i have found to mix it was in a plastic baggie with the oil. Its time consuming, but at least you can see and squish in any lumps of td. When im satisfied, i squeeze the mix into a corner and snip it over the batter bowl. But its still not perfect. I have still gotten specks that way.

I bought mine at WSP. Its supposed to be oil, but im really not sure, because i have mixed it with water, and although it comes out smoother, i get glycerin rivers. It looks nice in a couple of my soaps, but not all of them.

I have kind of a large supply that i need to use up. I purchased 2oz, but they sent me an enormous bag of it. I am probably going to go with micas after the TD is gone.

I want to mix it 3:1 w water in my blender. But I fear it’ll never come out of my blender. (Kitchen blender) And, afraid it’ll turn into a brick in the bottle, even with bolts and nuts. Except for the dirty blender, I don’t have much to lose I guess.

I wouldn’t put it in my blender. I would be afraid it wouldn’t come clean.

I find that spritzing with alcohol is the easiest and fastest method for clean up with any colorant I have ever had to removed from surfaces.

Also, TD is an additive in lots of food items, so a little residual shouldn't be a problem in a blender. Still, I also prefer a nice stain-free vessel when I go to prep foods and whatnot.

Have you tried zinc oxide? Not saying its better lol, and it doesn't even give the opaque white TD does, but it's another option.

TD in my HP makes it stringy if I get the consistency wrong - too much TD mixed with too little soap batter.

But I've had no problems with it, although I don't premix either. It does tend to stick to my plastic containers though, even if I've mixed thoroughly (I use one of those coffee frother thingies) and some will always be left in the pot though it washes off well.

I take all of my oxides and put them in a coffee grinder and grind like crazy. Then I just dump it back in the jar and when I am ready to use it, I mix it with some of the oil from my recipe. Never had a problem with TD or any other oxide.
