Hi there,
I just made a small batch of soap with the following oils/butters: olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, and mango butter. I don't usually use the butters in CP soap-making but I've had them for quite some time and wanted to use them up. I don't think they are rancid--they still smell pretty good, but the cocoa butter is a little harder and whiter on the outer edges. So you never know. They are just over two years old but I've stored them well.
Anyway, when I cut into the loaf I noticed that it appears slightly marbled, with swooshes of white inside the darker and moist-looking soap. I'm assuming these are the butters which might be drying faster, or taking on a harder form at room temperature. Any advice/thoughts would be appreciated. Do I wait it out? Rebatch? Or just throw the thing out? I'm pretty sure I made it to trace, in fact, it traced much thicker than usual. Ugh, I hate it when I doubt my soap!!!
Thank you!!!
Sarah
