Do you think I can handle this recipe?

This is going to be my first try at soap-making on my own. And I want to make it simple.
So what do you think of this recipe?

My concerns are that their calculator says that lather won't be stable. Is it a problem?
And I'm not sure how much essential oil I need for that recipe.
Any ideas?

It'll be fine, and the lather should be good.
It might be best with a 6+ week cure period.

it wont be a good shaving soap, that's all. Plenty of lather in that one, but I would be wary copying recipes from someone who cannot spell Lavender...

Oops. Sorry. That was actually me, who spelled it wrong. I didn't copy that recipe, I came up with that on my own with that soap calculator that they have.

You can name your own recipe. That's what I did. But I'm a bad speller.

Why so much po? just wondered. I would add some castor for more bubbles, about 10%, your bubbles number is at 16, I like mine(just me) at 25-27. Maybe if you are just starting make a smaller batch?

Huh! Just who did Noah Webster think he was when he decided to standardize spelling? I think it showed far more imagination when people could spell a word any way they wanted to!

I, personally, have a great imagination :roll: :wink: and have thought of many different ways to spell the name of that small aromatic shrub.

Spelled in any other way, it will smell the same (or something like that)

I think it's a reasonable amount of palm - it's actually a fairly balanced recipe in terms of properties - 25% low lather/mild, 25% high lather/harsh, and the remaining 50% moderate lather/moderate cleansing.

I don't think the numbers are really spot on - 25% coconut oil should give a good amount of big bubbles, and the 50% palm should provide a nice, rich, stable lather.

Test batches, though, I absolutely recommend about 2 pounds of oils.
