Hi everyone!

I have finally got around to cutting and photographing my Confetti soap - made, appropriately, on my wedding anniversary

I used shavings from my recent floral batches as the confetti and made a creamy base soap scented with lemon myrtle essential oil - lovely!

Thanks for looking,

Tanya :)

Tanya I was just looking at these in Facebook!
They are lovely, I have a bag of shavings that I was going to do a soap like this just for the kids, and because I don't like throwing any soap away, I have to use it for something!!
And congrats on another wedding anniversary, it's lovely in this day and age that marriage is still going strong.
I spotted the pic in the background, you look lovely!

Tanya, they are very nice. they set a really gentle mood. I ditto what ChrissyB said about marriage, its reassuring for us reasonably new married couples to know there are others making it through, which is not so easy in this day and age.

tanya, those soaps are lovely!

and may each year your bonds of devotion, strength, courage and generosity become grow stronger!

god bless! :D

Tanya - I'm telling you - your photography is just as beautiful as your soap.

So pretty! :) Love the colors and the overall look you've achieved.

When I used up some colored bits and pieces to make confetti soap it turned out to be my creamiest batch to date. Don't understand why though. It's the same beginner's recipe I've been using for the last 5 months. Maybe the soap curls give it that little extra lather boost.

Happy Anniversary!!!

Oh, thank you everyone! We have 26 years under out belts now.....

I loved how this soap turned out and am impatient to try it out. It smells absolutely wonderful. It is my first batch too with soybean oil in the base - I used 10%. I have heard good things about what S/Oil can bring to a soap.

Donniej - this is my first 'use up the shavings' batch and I just guestimated how much base batter to make to mix the shavings into. I probably could have made the base 20% more by weight to fill my loaf mould. Anyway I just cut the bars a little thicker than normal and they look fine. I usually make a 1 kg oil weight batch for my mould and I had 140 gram shavings to add so I made up 650 gram oil base. I think I will just subtract the weight of the shavings from 1 kg and make up 860 grams oil weight next time. Live and learn! I used a much less exact 'eye ball' method to work it out for this one  I just mixed the shavings into the soap at light trace and poured at medium trace so all the shavings were suspended through the soap.

What she said!! :D Tanya you presentation/pictures are to die for. You keep this up and not only will you be a soapmaker but soap photographer too!

Congrats on 26 years lady!

Linda

Truly beautiful! Certainly would make nice wedding favours :)
When I remember I try to add a bar of grated soap that didn't quite work out to a new batch, it helps to get rid of them without rebatching (which I hate).

I'm with you Corrie and thanks! I have rebatched a la Lindy and it works - just not my preferred thing to do. Luckily I haven't had many batches require it. I have a big shoebox full of paper bags of shavings so I am thinking I need to make a few more confetti soaps to use them now :D

Thanks CSS, studio, waychie and Linda - our 26 years hasn't all been wine and roses (or even beer and skittles  ) but I wouldn't trade him for anyone else! We have 3 totally gorgeous teens and life doesn't get any better.

Tanya :)
