Hello! I've been lurking for a little bit but wanted to introduce myself. I have many other hobbies and like the satisfaction of making the things I use day to day. I have yet to make a bar of soap but I've enjoyed reading all the threads and I've already learned so much. I'm excited to put all the reading to use and hopefully make some soap this weekend. Thanks! I plan on doing 500g recipes for a while until I feel more comfortable. And really what would I do with more than four bars of soap per batch?

Welcome , good to try small batches, you can keep 1 bar, use 1 and give 2 to friends to get their feedback.

I did! Thank you for asking.

Last Saturday I made a very plain boring loaf. I cut it a tad early and it didn’t go through gel phase but I think it was overall a passable first soap.

I’ve just finished pouring my second loaf where I’ve introduced colors! Riveting stuff I’ve increased the temperature and timer on the heating pad to hopefully force gel phase this time.
