Hello,

Hope all is well. I recently purchased a 55 lb slab of shea butter due to an increase in business and the supplier always being OOS of 7 lb pails. I removed the slab from the box and place in a plastic tote that I purchased from Walmart. I keep if closed when not being used. Any other tips on how to keep it fresh? I live in a dry climate and my work are never exceeds 80 degrees. Thanks in advance.

one way to vacuum seal without a sealer, put the shea butter inside a ziploc bag. (They do come in larger sizes 1 gallon, 2 gallon, and bigger.) seal the ziplock but leave 1-2 inches open. put inside a bucket of water (water needs to be lower than the top of your ziploc bag) the water will push out the air and then u can seal the ziploc.

LIne bucket lids with cling wrap before closing:- I break up extra cocoa butter; shea butter ; palm oil etc & store in buckets - I line all the lids with cling wrap before closing. Same for extra lye that I buy. ( I also do this for extra cookies and cakes that I store in the freezer)
