    lard soap

Haven't really done my research on lard but I've looked and can't seem to find a lot of information on its soap personality. I've seen what it brings to the mix, not very cleansing or bubbling but creamy and conditioning. I've seen adding other oils improves the quality of the bar. But I can't...

    Crumbly salt bar

Thank you, I was thinking that would work best. :) Ok, I've got some questions... I did 100% CO with yogurt like I had read up here. Would you just do another CO batch with no additional salt or a more basic recipe with a mixture or oils???

    Crumbly salt bar

I made a salt bar last night, and I let it sit to long before cutting (I guess) so it crumbled on me (on the bottom). I read that is common but I want to know if there is any way to salvage the bar, I went pretty heavy on the salt. So should I mix some more lye/water & oils and add the crumbly...

    Rebatch vs hot process

I didn't think about doing it in the same pot, silly me. Answer: Its not better or worse just different. I like the differences in the bars, but I do like them both (CP & rebatches).

    Rebatch vs hot process

I've rebatched one batch of soap, and my scraps now and I love the way they turned out. So I want to do another, and I was wondering if I should try hot processing or just stick with CP and rebatching (it was so easy). I rebatched 2 days after pouring and it was easy to grate and I melted it...

    Shampoo Recipe

Care to share your shampoo recipes? My hair is slightly on the oily side so I don't want anything that will leave my hair feeling greasy. Thanks for sharing.

    Palm Oil Question

I am ordering some more palm oil and I got the red organic last time but I don't like the color it gives the soap so I was wondering if the regular organic is also red or just the one that says Red Extra Virgin? I am buying from Soapers Choice. I don't know if that makes a difference...

    Can you rebatch a rebatch?

Here's my first rebatch. I don't mind it, I am rebatching the scraps from my previous batches tomorrow.

    Can you rebatch a rebatch?

Thank you, I tried doing my research before attempting the rebatch. I cut it this morning and actually only the outside is cosmetically unappealing so I think I may just clean it up a bit and stick with this batch. :)

    Can you rebatch a rebatch?

I made a beer bar that turned out great except for the smell, the vanilla beans I added didn't scent the bar at all and I wanted it to be scented. So I decided to do a rebatch and add some essential oils. This was my first rebatch and I don't think I melted it well enough, I did it in the...

    recipe critique please?

I am EXTREMELY new at this so please take this with a grain of salt but I think you have a little too much coconut oil. But don't know enough to suggest what to tweak.

First batch great, second batch ??

First off: lye 129 grams, water 345 (but I used brewed chai tea). No additional fragrance oils beside the canola I had infused with cinnamon, vanilla, and cloves (I added it after I thought I saw a trace so the lye wouldn't destroy the scent ???). Oils co 254, oo 363, po 181, castor (roughly...

First batch great, second batch ??

Okay, Saturday night I made my first two batches. My first batch definitely reached the tracing point, and turned out perfect. My second batch, not so sure. My baby was hungry so I hurried through it, I didn't mix it nearly as long but I know I mixed the first more than necessary. I used a...

    Suppliers?

I'm not trying to give an opportunity to advertise. I'm just new to soap making (I made my first 2 batches last night...and I'm hooked) and I wanted to get some suggestions for a good supplier. I ordered my first oils off of Amazon and paid too much! Thanks
