I tried again this morning using no witch hazel and it would not work without it, they turned out a little smoother so I guess I will have to watch it very closely. Thanks for all the help everyone :)

I did use some witch hazel in a spray bottle. I live in the pacific northwest, it wasn't raining when I made them but has been raining the last couple of weeks.

I made some mondo bath bombs tonight and 2 of the batches look like they have warts all over them. Has anyone ever experienced this before? If so, what did I do wrong?

So yesterday I made a 2lb batch of Shea cp, I used mango fo and attempted to color it pink (I say attempted because it turned out lavender in color) but my question is...I unmolded it this morning and it smelled really bad, almost a rancid smell not like the mango fo I put in it. Is this...

Cmd439: I did use a double boiler and used low heat, I'm hoping that letting them sit will make them harder, if not I guess I will keep searching for the perfect recipe. :D

PrairieCraft I tried your recipe and they were a lot softer then my original ones, they too set up really fast, I think I will let them set for a few days and see if they get any harder.

I just tested it and it is a bit hard but it works. I will try your recipe next and see if it works better.

Thanks PrairieCraft that worked perfect, they set up really fast. It's wierd because I found 2 recipes that were exactly the same for a massage/lotion bar and both of them did not include any wax, now I know, thank you again you saved the day! :D

I made some massage bars eariler this morning and they are still not set, it has been about 5 hours and they are still in a liquid state. Here is the recipe I used: 1/2 c cocoabutter, 1/8 tea vit e oil, 1 tbls coconut oil and 25 drops eo. My question is, how long does it take for them to set up?

So I unmolded my soap this morning to no bleed! It was still very soft but no red. Did you wash them before using, I soaked mine in hot soapy water after I bought them, that could be why you had some bleed (just a thought).

I used the exact same molds yesterday making the same soap, I haven't taken them out yet but I never thought of the molds bleeding into the soap. I will let you know when I unmold them (while keeping my fingers crossed that there is no bleed :) ) PS: my batch also took forever to get to trace.
