So yesterday I made a 2lb batch of Shea cp, I used mango fo and attempted to color it pink (I say attempted because it turned out lavender in color) but my question is...I unmolded it this morning and it smelled really bad, almost a rancid smell not like the mango fo I put in it. Is this normal? Will the mango smell come back after a few days? I know all my ingredients were good because I just recieved them from bb eariler this week, so what is going on? Help! :?

your scent will probably come out through the cure. sometimes i have soaps that are stinky then they do their thing in the curing room and come out fine...

I made soap with mango fo from BB 2 days ago and I can hardly smell it now. I used 1 oz PPO and I used corn starch thinking that will help. I have clay on order, next time I will use that and see if it sticks better.

sometimes it takes a while, i had one scent that stunk for a week and i was so disappointed cuz it had lost its EO scent. then all of a sudden i was walking down the stairs and i smelled it so strongly i thought one of the kids had opened the bottle and spilled it. nope... the EO had returned and was strong. it has since mellowed out.

good luck, i hope your scent returns

If you add clay to your soap to stabilize the scent, what does that do to the texture of your soap? How much do you add?
