    Coconut Bastille

To Sezzah--I've soap with BB Plumeria. I wasn't crazy about the scent oob, after the soap cured I love it. Not to overpowering and very pleasant--thats saying a lot--I'm not a floral fan. It behaved really well too.

    Question about Activated Charcoal

I bought from my pharmacy the first time I used it. I didn't want to spend a fortune either (especially on shipping--yikes!) A little goes a long way and I'm still using what I bought from Walgreens.

I have a friend who has it and she swears by my goatsmilk. It's basically a bastille, olive oil, cc oil--very low cleansing.

    Salt soap question

I let mine cure for at least 4 weeks. They really do seem to get better with a cure. I tried one of mine at 2 weeks and then later at 4 weeks. 4 weeks seemed more bubbly and milder to me.

    Anyone use this vendor?

I've ordered from them a couple of times, coconut oil, palm oil and lye. Everything was good quality and the service was good. No problems getting my order shipped, and prompt service.

Granite Soap...Yeah, let's call it that!

Glad you could save the batch and I'm with you--it's a wonderful granite--just tell people you ment to do that! One of my personal favorite soaps to use is one that was a rebatch from overheating--not the most beautiful, but a mild bubbly bar that smells great. Sometimes you just got to go with...

    Spices as Colorants...Scent?

Awww thanks!! I make a batch of slow tracing soap (cool temps), I bring it to a light trace (actually it's between emulsified and very light trace) pour out some in a separate bowl (or bowls) to be colored for a swirl. I always add the fragrance to the bulk of the soap after I separate it just...

    Spices as Colorants...Scent?

I've used tumeric and paprika and coco powder several times in soap. I infuse the spices in olive oil for several days and then strain through a coffee filter before using it in soap. I've never had any smell of the spices come out in the soap--although people swear they can smell coco (I...

    All about Hot Process...

I'm a CP type of person--it's by far my favorite process to do. That being said, I also do HP, but only when I have a fragrance oil that is too tricky in CP. I love the smell of Peaks Peach Mango but it's a bugger in CP and causes all sorts of problems for me. That fragrance is always HP for...

    my first soap attempt- help

A good 4-6 week cure can make all the difference in the world in soap. I'm like most people and can't resist 'trying' a few days after making--and it's almost always drying. That same soap feels much different after a few weeks, just give it time!

Great soap but can't use - photo attached

I just made a black activated charcoal soap with yellow balls inbedded. It's wild looking. It does make dark bubbles, and will discolor a white wash cloth (it doesn't stain--rinses right out). I tell people up front when I give them a bar--they love it anyway.
