I haven't made soap in awhile. I'm going stir crazy.

I think tonite I'll make a coconut bastille.

I'm thinking 80% olive oil, 20% palm kernel (just cause I have alot to get rid of). 5% superfat.

Use coconut milk for the lye solution. I'll do a 50% solution with coconut milk but add 10% water to make sure everything get's dissolved nicely.

Not sure about scent. I might leave it unscented as I prefer unscented soap and this is for me.

What are you making this week?

I have a mate getting married in Fiji soon and she is having frangipanis as her flowers, and loves my soaps. SO! Frangipani soaps are on the menu. Im still trying to work out the best fragrance for this tho, dont want it smelling too artificial and florally. Im considering the brambleberry plumeria.

Plan to HP it. Florals are challenging.

Oh, I'm so excited, just took your castile recipe off your blog- where you say you do the steeeeep water discount by using the same amount of water as lye. Thank you so much for this, because I'm still a bit confused when it comes to water discounting. Even better, I'm using the same size batch as you do, can't wait, been dying to try this for so long. Gonna give it a go in the am :D

I've already made a batch of citrus and fresh cut grass scented soaps this week... making two more batches this weekend: rose and another patchouli (since my first batch was kind of "eh" looking).

Oh good! Let me know how it comes out. 100% olive oil soap is the ONLY soap I would do that steep of a water discount on. Good luck!

Due to working, I usually don't soap during the week, but I couldn't resist make castille this week. I'm thrilled I made it ... finally!

This weekend I plan to restock dragons blood and chocolate soaps.

Val ... your castille looks amazing! Love the mould!

To Sezzah--I've soap with BB Plumeria. I wasn't crazy about the scent oob, after the soap cured I love it. Not to overpowering and very pleasant--thats saying a lot--I'm not a floral fan. It behaved really well too.
