Weird gelling with my loaf mould batches?

Hi, @Emma Burlingham mentioned, a "hard bright white chalky center". Which makes me think the loaf. Heated up enough to cook or dry out. Starting in the center. The ring is were it cooled down enough. To act normal. Could the dry chalky. Be a build up of something, without anything suspending...

Any tips for trimming loaf of soap?

Hi, when you run your chopstick around the edge. Use the thinnest part. And keep it tight to the mold. You're actually scraping the sides of the mold. With the chopstick. Also, holding it just a bit below the surface. Not too deep. I agree with others. Cut first. Then see how it looks. Also...

First soap batch ever in our RV

Hi, if you want a reusable round mold. Get a small piece of pvc, with a "flat" end cap. I cut mine at 12 inches. Also, cut your end cap freezer paper larger. The over lap will help seal. The top with the can. Along with your tape. Using 60% Lard. Instead of crisco. Makes a good soap as well...

Soap gone wrong - oil oozing out

Your instant milk quantity. Should be in relationship, to the water used. Also, when using powdered milk. You can add powder to the oils. Prior to adding lye solution. Or add it after emulsion. I've not used PKO. Does it make a good 100% soap?

Hi, 76/92 CO are just the ^cheapest^ versions. Nothing special other than that. I've never seen 92 degree CO on the shelf. At the store. Using oils you've mentioned. Here is my take.... Olive oil 30% Almond oil 15% Coconut oil 20% Shea butter 15% Cocoa butter 15% Castor oil 5% 3-5% superfat...

    What is this?

Hi, yes, freezing the milk helps. Just have to add lye slowly. Keep an eye on temp. Maybe keep ice bath on the side. Set solution in while prepping everything else. Darker inside? Sounds like you got a partial gell. Milk soaps heat up pretty well on there own.

    Finished soap ready to sell

Hi, The way I approach it. Anything on the inside should be on the label. Sodium Hydroxide "LYE" as well. there are labels on prominent e-sites. That do not list "LYE" at all. It is on mine. Just seems proper. I list it as "sodium hydroxide". Does not have the fear/shock value as the...
