    Favorite Salad Recipe

I like to do salad wraps. Its a great quick, easy meal for me as a vegetarian and very fresh. First I dice up tomato, green onion (or red onion, I prefer green onion though), romaine lettuce blend, and grate a cheese blend or use the bagged shredded cheese. Microwave a large flour tortilla until...

You know you're a crazy soap person when...

I've technically got 6 different recipes in the bathroom right now lol. 2 are just being used as hand soaps though while the other 4 in the shower. But I had 2 and just recently added 2 more to try out before the other 2 bars were used up... oh no, excuses excuses... I'm doomed.

    Almond Butter?

Yes, but it would be an additive not a saponifiable fat. This isn't butter like shea butter, cocoa butter, etc, this is butter like peanut butter.

Tips on duping this (magnesium soap)

I've found that ancient minerals actually had some of the best pricing on magnesium chloride flakes. Is that what you purchased, or the oil itself? When I compared other brands of flakes the ancient minerals was actually the cheapest. I looked on ebay and on amazon, but this was a while back. I...

newish soaper fundraiser, own recipe or anothers?

I hope the title isn't too confusing, trying to explain my question in as few words as possible. I'm a new-er soaper, but have mostly always done my own recipes. I keep notes on my recipes and have bars from them all, but none are a full year old. I'm going to be doing a fundraiser to help...

Tips on duping this (magnesium soap)

I use magnesium oil, currently its only magnesium sulfate from epson salts because I can't afford magnesium chloride but I'm wanting to try that. A lot of people who are magnesium deficient are so because of difficulty absorbing it in the gut, and I have digestive issues so I'm going the skin...

    Easter soap ideas?

The air in it also affects the soap making it very hard and harden faster. People frequently cut very soon just like salt bars. http://nizzymoulds.com/Whipped/

    Easter soap ideas?

What would be the purpose of adding sodium lactate to the whipped soap? Whipped soap is very hard, harder than regular soap.

    Bramble berry palm oil

I'd stick the bag in a bowl/container with hot water as you're setting up to soap. This is what I do with palm and coconut so that its melted or nearly melted by the time I'm ready to measure it out. I do use the microwave for cocoa butter though, in short bursts.

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

I have 5g citric acid with 3 grams lye to balance ppo down in my soap notes, I believe that was from flyby. I know thats who I first saw discussing citric acid with the lye to balance used as a chelating agent and started looking into it. We have hard water where I'm at now, and most likely when...

    Wood vs silicone molds

With a silicone mold it can need more for insulation to achieve full gel than using a wood mold. A silicone mold may not hold its shape so need to be in a wood or other mold to hold shape. When doing cpop in a silicone mold it can "boil" the soap causing air bubbles on all of the sides in...

    I'm such a noob

There's a huge difference between a salt soap and just adding a little bit of salt to help with a harder bar. I've added salt to many batches at that level and its never affected trace.

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

DeeAnna, what are your thoughts on adding a small bit of citric acid plus the extra lye to convert it to sodium citrate when making regular soap bars to help with hard water?

    Piped Rose Buttermilk Cake

Well, I bought a cake hahaha. And its HUGE. They were all out of the tiny ones, but I found a larger one that was 1/2 off so the same price as the little ones and I went for it. I've already eaten a tiny piece, and already feel sick from the sugar... haha. Hopefully I get lots of help eating this!
