    Essential Oil question.

That is the reason why I got wintergreen in the first place. Due to its properties similar to aspirin. I think i put around 20 drops in 50ml of oil. I use it once on my mum as I wanted to use the aspirin effect to loosen up her muscles when I do shoulder massage for her. thank god that nothing...

    Essential Oil question.

I don't dare to use EO neat as well. Have not tried it so far. Though I wish to try tea tree neat, but I still have my reservation. No matter what, pure EO is strong to begin with. As I said, the arguement on using EO neat is discretionary. Ought to proceed with care... So keep to 3-5% is...

Why is my liquid soap so drying?

If you are making liquid soap, I don't think the CO need to be that high. Since the soap sups will be dissolved anyway. The next thing to look at is castor oil. Not every skin react well with castor oil. I have come across before that people mention that castor oil dry their skin. Additional...

    Cloth diapers

Last time, the clother diaper is just a square cloth folded into diaper and pin up (just like what you see in cartoons). I still find that useful. Mommysoaper, i think your diapers look amazing. I wish i know sewing too. I didn't know such a thing exits in the first place!

    Essential Oil question.

I also use 3-5% EO in my soaps but I try to keep to 3%. But for tea tree EO, I up to 5% usually. I remember in a thread that I put on previously, there is agruement about tea tree EO being use direct. I did a research online, and it seems that though most EO need to be diluted before use, some...

Worst Beauty Recipe Book Ever Rant

Don't think about it as wasting your 30min. Because you discover this author is being disorganised in her book and provide contradicting information. Next time if you have the chance to write a book on your own, you will know that you should not do the same as her/him. Its another experience...

    Help with Purees?

I am not that sure. But I think it can be done. If fresh herbs can be used in soaping, I believe fresh vegetables can too. There are already people adding mash bananas into soap recipes. Maybe some of the fellow soapies here did. See if they can advise you more.

    Help with Purees?

I think to cook the carrots is to soften it up so that you will not get lumpy puree. Carrot is hard before cooking. I remember a discussion somewhere. LOL. Show us your cute rabbits once done.

    Dreaded Pink Spots?

I agree with AlchemyandAshes on this. It it the reaction of the black dye on the cardboard. If this has been some diffusion, I would have expected a spectrum of colors though.

    Lumpy Lotion

I think it could be your temperature and the mixing process. Did you use the usual soap beater or another one? The best temperature to do a lotion base on my past experience is at 70-75 degree celcius. You need the heat so that the E wax will not solidify too fast in the mixing process. you...

    Body Odor Still Remains

I do not know about the bases in BB or other suppliers. I got mine just at the neighbouring country and I do not usually use MP soap often. Have you thot of formulating your own bases? I remember somebody post a video on that somewhere. I do hope you can find a solution to your problem.

Palm oil or Palm kernel oil?

I use palm oil in my recipe. But generally, palm oil alone do not really have any great benefits to the skin. The use of palm oil is to stablise other oils in the soap so that the structure will stay. I have not use palm kernel myself. but in some books, they describe palm kernel as a...
