My first attempt on body butter

Thank Hazel. I will take note of it. Unfortunately, cosmectic preservatives is a ban item currently here. Even NaOH is never sold in pure form in the shop. I have to kind of 'smuggle' in. So right now all the soaps and lotions and butter are just for personal use.

I have these 2 books when I first learn soaping. "The Everything Soapmaking Book" and "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Making Natural Soap" These 2 books are pretty easy to understand for beginners. But they are just the beginning. As time goes by, I read more books but still I feel that the...

Help! I just added way too much water to my batch!

As what other have said, no damage to your soap. Not to worry. Just that it may take you a longer time to cure the soap in order for the extra water to evaporate off. But do take note, the soap may be too soft to be remove from the mold the very next day. hope that it won't happen to you.

    whipped lip butter

Hihi... Based on a personal experience, you need not really whip alot to get it real soft and easily apply. i use the same recipe for all my lip balm, but for softer texture, i use the milk whisk to whisk the oil before putting into the tin... the whisk oil was too abit soft to stay in tube so i...

    natural vegan eye serum/balm recipe

Hi Sally, I would love a balm. But I think its better to research on the suitable oil to be use for making eye serum/balm. Reason is the the skin around the eyes are more dedicate. Be careful on the EO you choose too.

What's your favourite oil in soap making? Why?

I agree with Dagmar88 too. So far, I have yet to like soaping with a single oil. Personally I like avocado and macadamia nut oil in my soap recipe currently but majority of the oil will still be Olive oil (upto 30%)

    Olive oil infused with camomile?

I infuse the chamomile flowers... Not the tea leaves... I suppose when chamomile is infuse into tea leaves, it don't really have the original property that it is originate to be used for. I am not sure. But that is how I feel about the difference about flowers and tea leaves.

    gel phase?

I do think that the difference is due to gelling. The temperature is higher on the inside compare to the outside, thus the middle part gel more instead.

goats milk and honey OO soap?

Hi Ann, if you want a more firm soap, coconut oil is a good choice. I use CO, PO and OO for basic soap recipe. However, do take note that if you are using milk, it is better to soap at lower temperature as they heat up the mixture real fast.

When I have butter more than 10%, i realise my skin will not be taking it well and so far the soap not performing to expectation. Individual reacts differently to the oils used in the soap. so for me, i won't go beyond 10% for butter. some of the butter like cocoa butter will speed up the...
