You used Carrot Seed Oil, not Carrot Seed Essential Oil, right? If you used the first, I'd try a little citrus & cedarwood or cinnamon eo's. Make sure you use a strong citrus (folded or anchor it with litsea).

You sound like me. I once kept a plant alive for 4 months, that's my record. I think it stayed alive because I left it alone. I inherited the brown thumb from my mother, who was known for killing her fake plants.

With most eo's, 3% is a good rule of thumb. But Sweet Orange EO fades, so you'll want to use something with it to get it to stick, like maybe a little litsea cubeba. For the vanilla, most vanillas fade in CP (even vanilla fo's), what kind of vanilla do you have Oleoresin or Absolute?

I'd go with .37 oz each of lemongrass & lavender. But, with the lemon I'd go with .44 oz.

I can tell you right now that 3 tsps is too little for almost 3 lbs of oils. Are you using fragrance oils or essential oils?

I use EVOO & make a lot of castile soaps (all unscented) and there's no oil smell. I just checked some of my older curing ones (6 months & up) and there's no smell at all. Maybe it's the type of olive oil? Or maybe some people are more sensitive to olive & I'm not one of those people...
