I've done them with just fco, fragrance oil & ultrafine glitter (like this https://www.thesage.com/catalog/Glitter.html)

    Boston

The people of Boston are in my prayers. It's going to be a long road of healing, physical & mental. I have seen the tragicrafting already rearing it's ugly head. Sickening.

Yep, don't use any aluminum glitter in CP, since that would have an interesting reaction with the lye as well.

First Cold Process - Troubleshooting help?

Soaps that you put in the fridge/freezer to keep from gelling will take longer to harden since you've slowed down saponification. Also, some fo's do overheat, which would heat up the soap even if you refrigerate it, add that to the fact that you used a wooden mold (which holds heat well) & that...

Which is more popular FO or EO?

Using fo's or eo's really is a personal choice. I use & like both. I always recommend people learn about eo's and how to safely use them before using them, though. It's also important that you know the safe limits for the fo's you use. As far as what customers want, most don't care or know...

My big top ones are the ones that I always CPOP. I sprinkle them with a little glitter (Right now I'm using Go Planet Earth's glitter), let it sit for 1/2 an hour and then spray it with alcohol before popping it in the oven.

That's from how much water you use. If you're using full water, try dropping it just a smidge.

    An Important Read

It's most likely Young Living. They are notorious for things like this, but I'm not sure that's who the people in the email were talking about, since they didn't state who it was.

    Soy wax tarts/melts

No that's not correct. Now if you have a bird or cat in your home, then I wouldn't. Also, some citrus eo's smell like fuel in a candle and wax melt. But you just have to test them.

My Mica Swirl for the Soap Works Challenge

Well, I was actually thinking of a beer fo. But, beer soap wouldn't have to be brown, some of it matters on the coloration of the beer. Mine's not brown. But I pop mine in the freezer for a couple hours right after molding to keep it from overheating. Then I throw it in the oven overnight.

    What are these specs?

Not if it's not big chunks of it. I use pureed carrots in one of my castile soaps all the time & have not had any mold or rancidity issues.

    LiquaScents ?

I've never heard of them. Prices look similar to places like Nature's Garden, Peak & AH/RE. It looks like for the usage rate, they're listing the IFRA safe rates and not suggested usage rates from their own testing of products.

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

You'll do less damage to your skin & it will hurt less if you use water instead of vinegar since vinegar & lye will cause an exothermic reaction.

    Moldy Soap :(

I think the white part looks like ash, especially since it's in other areas besides the greenish/brown area as well & the colored part looks like discoloration from a fragrance oil or something.
