    What exactly is Daphne Oil?

My husband loves this soap Anatolia Daphne - Olive Oil Soap (Single Bar) Even though I've made him olive oil soap variations I know he's just humoring me and doesn't want to hurt my feelings. I made him buy some so I could test it out and see if I could make something similar-ish . The...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Not soapy but I did make my first thick cream. My first attempt was too complicated with a bunch of oils/butters and my stand mixer didn’t emulsify it properly. So I slightly simplified and took another shot using my stick blender and the high shear mixing was a game changer. Came out...

    What are you picky about?

Glycerin rivers. I can’t stand them. I don’t like the aesthetic at all. Soda Ash is also one of my worst irritants but I’ve troubleshooted to where I rarely get it now.

    Coconut Milk Powder?

Thanks everyone. That makes sense. I figured if I couldn’t find a lot of info on it then it was likely sketchy—just wanted to check. 🙂

    Coconut Milk Powder?

I am trying to formulate an emulsified coconut scrub and was wondering if a small amount of coconut milk powder along with a preservative and antioxidant would be a reasonable addition? Because it’s powdered coconut does that mean that shelf life would be significantly decreased? I’ve been...

    Beginner question: factoring Preservative%

I've subscribed to Susan Barclay Nichols blog and have been playing around with emulsified scrubs for personal use. Well I discovered from the blog that I was using the wrong preservative--Liquid Germall Plus (I'm ordering Optiphen Plus). I made a 100 gram test batch and it occurred to me that I...

What soapy thing have you done today?

It's not exactly soapy but I made my first ever whipped body butter to test out. I let my little girls choose the fragrance and they chose 'Pumpkin Chai' and its a good thing too because it covered up some of the nutty smell from the unrefined shea. Eh the smell is...not too terrible lol.

How to overcome adhesion issues during winter - newbie

Embrace them. You can do everything right and it can be perfect and then it can totally happen anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️ If it really bothers you then maybe consider a more forgiving container or a wrap around label.

    Trick or Treat

My kids are doing a drive through style ‘trunk or treat’ that our aunts church is putting on. We won’t be actively trick or treating door to door but we’ve never really been big into that anyway. We will have candy for the trick or treaters just in case we have any. We’ll wear masks if we hand...

    Shea vs Mango Butter

The big difference for me is price. I’m no expert but I can’t tell a direct difference in my soap between the two. I’m going to try it in some leave on products to see if I like it.

    Bitter Creek Candle Supply

I know they are really good about refunding the difference in shipping—or at least I got one for some wick clip sets.

    Face mask recommendations?

I don’t know anything about sewing so I’ll have to take your word for it 😊

    Face mask recommendations?

I’m not usually into fancy schmancy designer stuff but I couldn’t find a mask that I liked that was quality and fit comfortably that was *also good quality/value. I found this in my searches. It was 5 masks for $35 from Tory Burch and I pulled the trigger and got them. They are exceptional...

    1. earlene - Thank you, szaza. I've been meaning to try this again. Didn't turn out so well the first time. 2. MarnieSoapien - I'm not tall or skinny but I think I can make a shimmy! 3. bookreader451 - I tried this before but, I definitely need a second go! 4. dibbles - I'm in and hope I have...
