:???: I bought a soap from Down Town Disney in Florida that claims to be Egg White Soap. I looked through the forum history for techniques and didn't see anything current. Is anyone still using eggs in their soaps and what is the difference?:eh:

If you scent it I recommend cardboard shoe boxes. I buy mine from Michael's or JoAnn Fabrics. There about 3-5 dollars each. If you put a cottonball with some of the scent it seems to last longer. I read somewhere that soaps will pickup other scents or odors if left out.

I don't have pics sorry. I used 32oz olive oil, cheaper the better and whatever soap calq says to do with 40% water to lye at 5% superfat. I was on last batch and tired!! That's why I missed the superfat. If/when I do it again, I will superfat main batch at least 2% and then add about 1 1/2...

Fo/es :wink::smile: You have to check the flash points on essential oils or fragrence. If your hot process is over 180 degrees when molded your going to lose scent. The lowest I've been able to go without is 160 degrees. You risk losing bar beauty soaping cooler. Higher temps they lose scent

If you know that your fragrence is going to make the batch freeze you can make some really pretty soap using multiple colors and working fast!!! I find having 2 more hands helps. I will not get rid of a fragrence that sticks just because it accelerates. Plan for it!

:) I live near Orlando and I store my overstock in large wire bins used for closet storage. We're so full of humidity even with ac that I want full air circulation at all times. I would never put my soap in boxes with lids. Too afraid of rancidity(sp)? to risk the hard work.

:) Different milks soap differently even if canned, fresh, evaporated or powder. Do a test batch. The fats will determine final color and consistency.

:) I use ultra marine violet and it is true. I goats milk soap every week and found a purple that sticks. I got mine from pvsoap.com. cp does ok but is muted next to earthy colors.
