Sale at Candle Science .99 for 1 oz

I got a chance today to soap with the oakmoss and amber oil I bought. It smells wonderful, and I had no problems at all. It reminds me of a warm, unisex spa scent. I took a stab at making a salt bar with it. So far, so good on the scent and the salt bar (first time for both).

    Is it only me......

I've seen it too. To me, it's unfortunate. I really like both mediums (CP and MP) for completely different reasons. I like MP because there's no waiting for it to cure. I can do a fun project on a whim and be able to enjoy it pretty much immediately. It's also more WYSIWYG since there's...

Sale at Candle Science .99 for 1 oz

Mine came too! It was was like smellolympics at my house today! Heehee The only one I really didn't care for was the Nag Champa. It might morph when soaped or maybe it's like patchouli--love it or hate it. Who knows. Not crazy about the Very Vanilla either. Might be nice when soaped...

Sale at Candle Science .99 for 1 oz

I haven't used many FOs either--I've been working mostly with essential oils and love them. I've been wanting to try some different FOs ones, though, mostly because I know a lot of people who really like the fruitier and nature-type scents. And there are a few I'd like to maybe try blending...

Sale at Candle Science .99 for 1 oz

Um, yeah. I ordered 23 of them this morning. There's something wrong with me, I think. HAHAHA But seriously, $.99 each? If I'm going to buy a crapton of samples, now is the time, right?!? :) I only paid just over $30 with shipping. Can't wait until they get here. It'll be like Christmas!

    First ever try at CP

This totally made me laugh! Too funny. I was SO nervous in the beginning about using lye, but after a few batches, I got pretty comfortable with it. The main thing is just to have respect for the lye. If you do that, it's fine. :)

    Anyone care to share....

I doubt it. I suspect that coconut flour could cause some major problems in soapmaking. It is HIGHLY absorbant--much more so than other flours. It's also incredibly fine and soft, so I doubt it would give you any real exfoliation.

    Coconut Milk vs Coconut Water

    1. That is what I use (from a can). They sell it in cartons, also, but I haven't looked at them close enough to see what else is added to it. 2. I haven't seen anything but regular coconut milk. Low fat coconut milk tends to be thinner (it usually is just diluted with more water). 3. Yes...

teach soap facial bar for acne

Very nice! I absolutely ADORE the smell of tea tree. I haven't tried it with lavender yet (usually I use it with peppermint). I may have to do that soon!

    "Unpopular" Ingredients.

I'm pretty new to this all, so take it for what it's worth, but here's my two cents... While we know the process behind making soap, the average consumer does not. They see "lard" in soap, and all they can think of is slathering lard n their skin. Or they remember the take-your-hide-off soap...

    The drying rack~

That looks so wonderful and organized. I'm completely jealous!

Bars made with new mold get a D-

I've found that popping the silicone mold in the freezer for about 10 minutes helps with unmolding. Mine has 12 square cavities. I've never made salt bars, but it's all I've used with the soap I have made.

A Productive Week of Soaping :)

That's the one I have. :) The corners on it are perfectly square. No rounding or tapering. I've used it with both MP and CP, and it works great!

A Productive Week of Soaping :)

Thank you! I only have one mold right now--a 12 opening square silicone mold--but I'm kind of liking the square bars. They're a little different, I think. The color differences are much more pronounced in person than they are in photographs, too. :) I'm sure as I keep going things will...
