i am a new soaper but I went with the stick blender method and WOW it's so fast and easy!! with the time it takes to get the lye to cool and measure everything out I can not imagine having to hand stir it for a long time too!! i just don't have that much time!

Okay for those of you who use essential oils to scent your soap ~ I am reading alot about ones that are harmful or toxic ~ one of which is sage ~ but then I see tons of soaps on line that are sage ~ so are people just using fragrance oils? is sage essential oil okay in a very small amount...

It doesn't smell super vanillae right now ~ hoping it will come out more when it cures, otherwise my next batch I will have to use FO instead of EO because the EO is too expensive to add tons!! here is some pictures!

I made it last night ~ it is still in the molds and I can't believe still warm to the touch ~ It looks great ~ light tan/brown color now, I added just a little honey and also vanilla eo 5ml ~ I was so worried about the vanilla eo seizing up the soap because I read about that ~ but it did not...

so for those of you who use honey ~ do you still wrap your molds in towels to insulate? or no?

so when you use vanilla essential oil ~ do you have these same problems? I don't mind the brown coloring, but brown lather or seizing? Has anyone used ground vanilla beans?

hestia ~ do you stir during the 2 hours? add fragrence at the end? Do you transfer to a mold then or have it in the mold in the oven?

lynn, thanks for your response ~ did you use the whole .5ml bottle for the 2lbs? That's what I have to scent it ~ It is expensive, man does it smell great in the bottle, can't wait to make it!

I was just reading around on the forum and realized that Hemp Oil needs to be put in freezer because it has a short shelf life!! I didn't even think about that some of the oils might need to be kept cold. I have Coconut, caster, pomice olive, palm, wheat germ, jojoba, hemp, and aloe vera (soy)...

but what if??? but If I can NOT get it out ~ after all the advice given, can I put it in a double boiler, mold and all till soap melts out and repore?
