Essential Oil Help

Okay for those of you who use essential oils to scent your soap ~ I am reading alot about ones that are harmful or toxic ~ one of which is sage ~ but then I see tons of soaps on line that are sage ~ so are people just using fragrance oils? is sage essential oil okay in a very small amount? Also read that lemongrass can be irritating ~ anyone use these oils in there soapmaking?

I haven't used Sage but I have used Lemongrass in a blend and didn't find it irritating. I find Peppermint essential oil quite tingly even @ 1% of oils. :wink:

I use dried sage, finely ground in a coffee grinder then sieved to remove any scratchy bits.

It is a great deoderant soap.

Lemongrass can be irritating to sensitive skins.

Alot of things are irritants if used at 100% strength. As the old saying goes "The dose makes the poison".
