Good to know! I know I've had friends use it without lining it and never had any problems, so I wonder why they didn't, but mine did? At least now I know to always line it! It shouldn't hurt the finished bars though, right? It's just cosmetic now that I can cut off?

I can vouch that Mason jars are not good! I had seen some people use them, so I thought they were safe and I had a bunch, but I had some in my sink in an ice bath, and the bottom of the jar completely broke off! Luckily it was in my sink and I had rubber gloves on so no issues. Scary though!

Nope, no zapping. I did put it in a warm oven, but as soon as I saw it gelling I took it out and just let it sit not covered, etc.

I just lifted it up and looked at the bottom and it was all wet, like water had leaked out and this is what it looked like: :(

One was from MMS, which I understand is a really good source. The other was from Candlescience and was listed as body safe. I would think it could be the source, but since they are from 2 different sources I would think it's something else that I must be doing wrong.

Oh, and I know it kind of looks like ash on the bottom, but it's not. It's not something growing on the bottom, it's just the hole-y spongy-esqueness of the soap. :lol:
