I make a scrubby bar with M&P by putting sugar in the bottom of the mould before I pour the soap over it. Giving it a scrubby layer.
if I try the same thing with CP soap -will the heat from the soap melt the sugar during the gel stage ?
Am worried about the sugar 'disappearing' ..!

I know people use poppy seeds and cornmeal for scrubbing, also coffee grounds.
There is also a thread from some time ago on Sugar CUbe soaps that look scrubby, at lest on the surface. It would be worth a search.

Why don't you use salt? Lots of people use it in CP. I have seen pictures of salt bars where people have used fine salt (not tried it myself) but would give the same affect as sugar (I'm guessing)

Salt bars will give you a lotiony lather, but they are not exfoliating.

I like calendula petals in my cp soap. Scrubby, but not too much so.

I don't like cornmeal--too scrubby for me. Everyone likes different things....
