Why are my soy votives turing into wax puddles within hours?

I have been making soy votives and they do not burn for more than an hour or two before totally melting. I am using the Eco Soya Pillar Blend (which is supposed to be for both votives and pillars).

Luckily, the votive melts down and I can just reuse the wax for another votive that will melt away in 5 minutes - so at least there is almost no waste...

I am using the right wicks - why would this be happening? I am wondering if it is just this particular brand of wax, and maybe there is another I should try that might be better?

sorry i'm a soaper not a chandler-my suggestion would be call your supplier. if he is a reputable dealer, he can answer your question and suggest soloutions. explain your frustration and give him a chance to make it "right" with you.

www.peakcandle.com has a good website with reference of wick size to wax, etc. you may check there.

Are you burning your votive in a votive cup or holder? A votive is supposed to turn into melted wax in the holder. It is not freestanding like a pillar. Carole

Yes, I burn them in glasses

The glasses are fairly wide, but I guess it would keep the heat in and make it melt like that. I'll try burning one in open air, hopefully that will solve the issue. Thanks!

votives need to be burned in TIGHT fitting holders, not spacious or in open air. they are basically container candles without the container.

If you burn it in a proper holder then it's perfect that it liquifies - it should take about 2 hours to reach a full melt pool (all the way across). I assume the wax is not consumed in that two hours and that when you extinguish the candle it hardens back up...?

If it's burning to rapidly I'd challenge your selection of wick - maybe you need to bring it down a size or two or select a different type. The supplier c
