Hi all, I’m relatively new to candle making and hoping for your help! I’m using GoldenWax444 soy wax and Escentscia Style fragrance oils (FOs) at 6% (24ml FO to 400ml wax) in 40cl glass vessels with Lumetique XL wooden wicks. I add the FO at 65c and also pour at 65c (as advised at a workshop and also in a candle-making book). I have conducted a burn test across 3 different FOs and after a couple of minutes, the flames all went out and when re-lit will not burn for more than a few seconds. There appears to be a slight sink hole near the wick, which was not visible before lighting. I am wondering if I should reduce the fragrance load to 5%? I did a burn test on the same wax/wick/vessel combo without any FO and the burn was fine, so I don’t believe it’s a wick issue. After many attempts at re-lighting and a little wick trim, I have managed to get one burning nicely, but the other 2 won’t light. Any tips on optimum wooden wick length/fragrance load with soy wax/pour temp? I’ve attached some photos, any tips would be much appreciated as I’m desperate to get these burning right! Thanks
