hi!

I have looked in all the stores for palm oil with no luck. I had to order online but with the shipping it was expensive. Any suggestions on where to get it?

Thank you!

Its hard to tell you where to buy it since you give no indication of where you are located :D However, I would buy from Soaper's Choice or Wholesale Supplies Plus. With SC, your order usually goes out the next business day (same day usually if you order in the morning) and their UPS is quick. But the further away from them you are, of course, the shipping is going to cost more. With WSP, shipping is automatically included into the price of the product you are purchasing so if you don't live close enough to make SC workable, then WSP will likely be the best option. If you want to try to buy it locally and you live in a larger or metro area, check the ethnic food stores. Also, places like Restaurant Depot and other restaurant supply stores may carry it.

Some "all vegetable shortening" will be 100% palm oil. I don't have my tub handy so I can't remember the brand, but that's what I started with.

There is a restaurant supply store (bulk foods and other items) here in town that carries a 50 lb block of Palm Shortening. It works great!

Thank you for all the advice! I live in Southern California, sorry I didn't mention it earlier.

Related question that I figured I'd hijack this post for: for those of you that have bought from Soapers Choice, what containers do the 7 lb oils come in? Tubs or bottles? I don't mind bottles for things like castor and olive, but having to soften coconut or palm to get it out of a one inch opening can be a pain....
