I made pumpkin soap last night following a recipe I had and today it is still water. :(

I used 10 oz olive
5 oz lard
5 oz coconut
3 oz water
2.something oz of lye
3 oz pumpkin puree
harvest fo

Is there something wrong with the recipe or is it just me? lol. It smells so good I am so mad it didn't work!!!

:p Well, I sure hope you didn't put in 2. something of lye, but did some more accurate measurements. I prefer measuring in grams, it's more accurate that way.

This recipe, with a 5% water discount, calls for 6.6 ounces of water and 2.828 ounces of NoAH.

Is it really liquid like water? Did you reach a trace?

did you use any water?
did you mix it to trace? did you use a stick blender?
by liquid - what do you mean? is it all still blended completely or do you see separation?

Lol

Yes I did put in an exact amount for lye but cannot remember it and don't know where I put the recipe! lol. I want to say it was 2.7 or something in that area.

Yes I did use a stick blender, yes it did reach light trace yes I did use water...3 oz. and 3 oz pumpkin puree. It is very watery like, it doesn't look like it has seperated.

ok just took another peek at it and I was wrong, it is hard at the bottom, but there is like an inch of watery substance on top. Is it still usable soap??? Or will it be to harsh? It is kind of slimy...will it harden or should I throw it?

If your measurements were correct, you could rebatch in the microwave rather than just throwing it out. Maybe the FO wasn't incorporated into the soap well enough... It wouldn't hurt to try. Just dump it all into a microwave safe bowl and zap at power level 3 for 5 minutes or so, stirring it a bit as it melts down. Zap a few more minutes and stir until it is pretty fluid, then pour into your mold.
