That’s why you visit the plumbing section of your local hardware store @MomInWA, to purchase a jar of Red Devil. I know where you live, and you DO have stores there! 🤣

How did you apply the gold mica @Nonnie? It looks fantastic!!!
I used my finger and a soft bristle brush withsome mica. Worked out pretty good.

I absolutely hated the round soap so I have been playing around with them. I took a few and smooshed them in my shampoo bar mold. It helped a little. Then, I took the leftover embed logs and cut them to fit inside cavity molds. I'll make a batch of white batter again like the other bees and pour over. Maybe I'll have decent looking soap then.

I love your creativity! I'm excited to see how the bee molds turn out.

When I make slabs, not so much. But multicolor or multi-loaf batches requires days of preparation and checking and rechecking. Then execution is fast.

Fragrance and/or sodium gluconate gets missed often 😬
Yes, I can relate to the little cups of extras I forgot to stir in at the end before pouring into the mold 😬

That looks super creamy and so pretty 🥰

This weekend, I plan on making four different soaps. Today's two soaps are in the mold and it's barely noon. Today's soaps were my Gardener's Hand Soap (in a pvc tube) and Cucumber Mint. This afternoon will be dedicated to planning tomorrow's soaps as well as designing some sale signage for my February market.

My soap thing today was an epic fail. And a total waste of a huge amount of oils!😭
As I was playing around with the recipe on soapcalc I wanted to masterbatch the lye, but I didn’t click the right button but I master batched it anyway not paying attention to the recipe that I printed out that was wrong.
And so my beautiful batch of soap did not have enough lie for saponification

and when I looked at it this morning there was all this oil laying on the top surface.
Is there any way to save it? Do I just throw it in the trash?

When I accidentally made my 50% super fat soap I poured off the excess oil and it became soap. It didn't look anything like I intended though. I've still got it too.

Another two batches of soap made this morning. I'm done for now. The next couple of weekends will be spent organizing and making bath & body products for my first market of the season. This morning's soaps were Black Raspberry Vanilla (not sure how good it will look; I fear it may be a bit "muddy") and Patchouli Orange, always a crowd fave.

Well it looked pretty going but this is what it looked like the next day 😭 And it was oily to the touch. My SF was at 5. Maybe I need to raise it?
I don't see anything wrong with this soap- is there something specific you didn't like?

Many CP soaps feel a little oily to the touch for a few weeks. If they continue to feel oily after that, you will want to lower (not raise) the superfat. More superfat = more free oil = oily to the touch.
