What soap boxes should I use?

I have an order for soaps that will be used in gift baskets for Christmas. This customer prefers boxes with labels. My question is should I use kraft boxes without a window, kraft boxes with a window, or kraft boxes with an open window? This will just be for plain unscented, uncolored ZNSC that I've been making for over 2 years now but I've never used soap boxes. Will the soap sweat inside the boxes or will they be ok? I'm so nervous. I've only ever sold to family before and this is one of DH's business clients that he gifted a bar of soap to a couple months ago.

I use a kraft box without a window for my CP soap, I've never had an issue with sweat, in fact, I find it breathes nicely. But I am in a cool, low humidity environment and my soap studio is climate and humidity controlled.

I use the kraft boxes from WSP with a rectangular window, but if I was only going to be packaging uncolored, unscented soap I think that a box without a window would better completely protect the soap. If you are only going to use boxes this one time, that's what I would order.

These labels match the boxes very well and fit horizontally on the front, or vertically on the back. I use them on the back to list ingredients and also include some wording to say the soap should be kept on a draining soap dish or soap lift to allow it to dry between uses, and use these labels for the front with the soap scent. They work well for me, but I don't sell. There would be enough room for the name of the soap and the soap weight, but I'm not sure what else has to be on the front label when selling.

Have you tried the Gersoniel brand (or any other brand) from Amazon? I'm wondering if there's a discernable quality difference because I can get the Amazon ones shipped quicker.
Also, I found an Avery template that's compatible with my kraft labels from OnlineLabels! I already had my design in Avery from a previous 2x3 label I made and was able to easily transfer the design over to the new size template and print a sheet this morning. Happy happy happy dance!

I haven't tried any soap boxes from Amazon. Amazon does have crafter's choice boxes. These look to be the same as the crafter's choice boxes.

Thank you. I think the Crafters Choice will better fit my soaps. The other ones have a slightly bigger measurement.
I guess, now my question is: Will my soapboxes look funny if my back labels are landscape view even though the window and front label will be portrait view? Or should I make the front label landscape with the window to the side? I'm probably overthinking this, but it's driving me crazy.

I think whatever looks best to your eye is better. FWIW, my labels on the back are in portrait view and I use a smaller label on the front (1 x 1.5) under the window. My back labels are 1.5 x 2. I don't sell, so I don't have to worry about font size or my address or soap weight all fitting on the label. I just list ingredients and a little wording about keeping the soap dry.

These are the back labels I use, and these are the labels I use on the front.

Thanks so much. I have rectangle kraft labels from onlinelabels that are 1.5 x 2.83 for the back.
I'm still debating on two ways of labeling.
1. Front (under window) having my brand/logo and the back label having the name of the soap and ingredients listed.
Or..
2. Front (under window) having the name of the soap (and wt.) and the back label having the ingredients list above the brand name and contact info.

You will sort it all out, I’m sure. If you are selling, I think the weight needs to be on the front label, and there is a required minimum font size for that. As a consumer, I would like to see the name (fragrance) of the soap on the front since I probably wouldn’t even pick up a ‘rose’ or ‘amber’ scented soap. I think if you could fit it all, having your logo on the front would also be nice.

Ok, another question: Am I supposed to list a complete address or can I just list my city, state, zip code, and phone number?

If it helps, my back labels have the ingredients listed at the top and my brand name/ logo in the center with my contact info underneath. Label is horizontal.

I don't sell, so I'm not too sure about the address/contact requirements. Hopefully someone else can help with that. Marie Gale has good information about that, and you might find what you are looking for on her website. I'm linking to the FAQs, but you can look around on her website if your questions aren't answered there.

Thank you @dibbles and @MelissaG. I just poured over the link posted above and most of what I have is accurate, thankfully. The section that gives specifics on blended ingredients including teas and such was especially helpful as I had no idea I needed to separate coffee into two separate ingredients on my labels, but I already am following this exact same rule when listing my handmade aloe vera gel.
I'm going to edit my address from PO Box to physical street address on my back labels and add net wt to my front labels. Then, I'm going to print one of the back labels to see if the gold/yellow part in my logo will print legibly on kraft brown labels or if I need to change the color scheme.

I'm looking at the net weight part. Can I put a range of say 4.5-5.0 OZ in order to cover all my different soap bars? Or should I just use the little wavy line for "approximately" and input the lowest weight of 4.5 OZ, knowing that none of my bars will weigh less than this amount? I'm sure the weight of my bars will become more consistent after Christmas when I get to use my new silicone liner from Nurture. 😁

Put the minimum amount that it will weigh on the label.

You can get boxes and the like from alot of businesses including Wholesale Supplies Plus but they are more expensive than just using shrink bags that you can also purchase from them. I make my own boxes with my cricut because it's about a tenth of the price.

I ordered some Crafters Choice kraft boxes with the rectangle open window cutout on front. I have labels on the way from OnlineLabels.com that match up to Avery templates I'm just putting the finishing touches on so they'll be ready to print when the labels arrive.
