i am making a batch right now and the only new thing is the FO which i added to oils. my batch wont emulsify. i am mixing with the SB but every time i stop the soap batter that has thickened sinks to the bottom and there is this water on top. why is it separating like this? will it ever emulsify?

You can do this!

Double check your recipe- did you forget anything? Are your ratios correct?
Is it too cold? too hot?
Did you sacrifice a goat? (Never forget the goat!)

I'm sure it's come together by now. :D

i SB for almost an hour then after i posted i got out my mixer, lol. i did that for another 15 mins and it started to come together again. it took me nearly an hour to get it to emulsify. it was weird the only other time i have seen this same look was when i was trying to make lotion and had way to much water in there so the stuff kinds floated around in all the extra water. i will never make this scent in CP again though.

i now have a very ugly bar of what was supposed t be peach with a greaen swirl. it looks kinda like baby puke now :?

I know you've done it successfully, but recipe and zpprox temps pls.

Hahaahahah!! I think like this, as well. I've also contemplated lighting incense in offering to the soap gnomes so that everything goes well.

i put it in a cupboard above the oven and i am trying to forget it exists for a few days, then when i look at it again i wont be quite so upset.

i couldn't ignore it and umolded this morning. it had a layer of what looks like partially solidified CO on it and when i cut it, there are pockets through out the entire loaf that have FO in them (the FO was a very bright yellow and my oils were all white) the scent is gone, not in the soap and the oozing stuff barely smells. I will NEVER try this FO again. oh well, i will put it back in the cupboard until it cures then give it to one of the soap places that rebatches...
