That’s really interesting. I want mine to stay on for a long time. The longer the better.
@Tammyfarms Me, I like sticky lip gloss. I started using Bonne Belle bubblegum with the roller ball when I was a kid in the 70s. In the 80s, I graduated to those tubes of super sticky gloss. I haven't tried to make it yet, but it's on my list.

With part of the past season's earnings, I splurged and bought myself an iPad 10th Gen for Christmas, to go along with my Macbook Air. I'm hoping it will help aid productivity. I'll be transcribing some of my base recipes (and notes) so I can access them more easily as I'm making products.
I love the Notability app for making. I use it and my Apple Pencil every time I make something.

You might like this lip balm. It's the only one I make (personal use only). I use a few drops of cocoa absolute instead of Peppermint EO.

It's not for everyone but I love it. I like that it doesn't look glossy on the lips.
Thanks! It’s funny, I was just looking at that recipe. I really be like my current recipe which is very similar to her Burt’s Bees dupe. I think I’m going to try adding some cocoa absolute along with the peppermint eo which I already use. I have some cocoa absolute but hadn’t thought of using it in lip balm. 🤔
ETA: I just checked the IFRA for the cacao absolute I have and it’s not suitable for lip products. 🙁

That's not good news.

Just looked at a listing (not the same as mine) from 50th ammendment that states not lip safe. Another company listed the 51st ammendment and it shows .78% for Category 1. 💁‍♀️

Yeah, it makes it tough when there is conflicting information. I love the idea of chocolate peppermint. I just ordered lip balm sweetener from WSP hoping that is a nice addition to the peppermint. @Misschief uses Lorran candy flavors in her lip balms. I may try their chocolate to see how that tastes.

Years ago, I tried cocoa absolute in lip balms. Tasted delicious, and nothing bad happened to my lips, but it did not incorporate well at all, but sank to the bottom of the mix every time.

WSP has an unsweetened chocolate flavor oil. I haven't tried it but there are two older ratings that are fairly positive.

Thanks! I just found that. Not sure how I missed it earlier.

2 more body butter bars to try out. And, 17 mini shampoo bar testers. 3 different recipes. My plan(hope) is toadd the matching conditioner bars to have sets for testers.
Are you creating your own body butter bars or using someone else’s recipes? Please let us know if you find something you love.
BTW, there’s a great thread on shower lotion bars that you might find interesting. It’s here

@Misschief thanks! I've been having fun experimenting and have my mostly perfect recipe.
The Burt's bees dupe Irish Lass shared 5 years ago combined with a recipe I got from a local class have been great in getting what I want. The addition of lanolin was a game changer for me!
I just needed something slightly softer this winter. My lip balms don't stay warm in my pockets (my body doesn't believe in producing heat) so it was becoming a pain to warm it up and put on my lips.
I guess this would be a great recipe if I was doing snow sports due to how long it sits on the lips.
Big ditto on @IrishLass's recipe which I based mine off of. What me and other users have noticed is that I re-apply my lip balm LOTS less often compared to store-bought brands.

Agreed! I mainly use lip balms in winter when it gets even drier (I can burn through a tube in about a month).
It's the only season when I burn through all the moisturizers. So far though I'm using less now that I have lotion and lotion bars.
