I made Chocolate Chip Mint body butter. It went over really well last year as Christmas gifts. Cocoa butter, Shea, coconut oil, a vanilla infused jojoba/argan/apricot oil I made a couple months ago, and drops of peppermint EO. I love this stuff!! Ho Ho Ho everyone!! 🎅🏻🤶🏻🎄☃️
Okay, first ho ho ho. So, ignorant guy here, what is a body butter? I make soap and lotion bars. And I make my beloved a foot balm which is basically a lotion bar BUT with more oil so it's more vaseline-y if that makes sense. I'm just asking because all those ingredients sound/smell good.

Body butter is, essentially, a very thick cream. It can be anhydrous (oils and butters melted together, then whipped) or an emulsified thick cream. Either way, it's thicker than a regular cream or lotion.

And, if you grate the butter, you can use your stick blender and skip the melting...
@justsomeguy true, but some fragrances want to be warmed to develop their scents! I use a lot of vanilla C02 and it wants gentle warming. Then my whole house smells amazing all day! 😁

It's turning out that my bestselling product this year hasn't been soap - it's been my Overnight Lip Masque (lip balm). I made a batch of 52 and sold all but 6 in two markets. I have two more markets coming up to finish the year so I had to make another batch of 52. That's been the only bath & body, or soapy, thing I've done in what feels like months.

I made a big batch of tooth powder (dry toothpaste). My gums do so much better with this, rather than commercial toothpaste.

Next was a batch of syndet shampoo bars for the house, scented with rosemary and litsea EOs. My soap room smells great!

I made 2 batches of Avocado Body Butter - Sandalwood Vanilla and Lilikoi Berry; and then a batch of Watermelon Sugar Scrub today. Yesterday was Lotion Bars ala @Zing - Plumeria, Oatmeal Milk and Honey, Watermelon.

Only a few more weekends before the Women’s Christmas boutique I am doing again this year. It was a good event last year, and this year they are doubling capacity and hosting a second service and boutique the next morning. Figuring out how much to make is such a dilemma!

I know several churches that do them, and also neighborhood associations, and craft show vendors. I even know one lady who does one in her home, with all her different crafts and things. It’s a way to gather together hand-crafters and buyers at a time when people are looking for unique gifts.

For our church’s boutique, people donate everything that will be sold, with all sale proceeds going to charity. There are bath and body products, paper crafts, jewelry, gift basket sets, candles, ornaments, Christmas decorations, etc. Everything is usually displayed like a craft show, and often food and drinks are available.

Mine is part of our church’s annual Ladies’ Christmas luncheon, so we have a full catered lunch, singing of Christmas songs, and a speaker. It’s wonderful!

We have a thread for Soapy Things so why not a thread about Bath & Body Things? If you make Bath & Body stuff, what have you done today?

I'm in the process of making my third batch of conditioner bars for Sunday's market. Pictures will follow.
yea

Samesies. I've made and sold shampoo bars for seven years, they've just started to catch on in my area. The 24 I made last week are almost sold out.

Ohhh, I’m curious about these.
I got mine from WSP. They have two sizes:

I haven't quite got the hang of filling them yet, I'm uncoordinated and a klutz by nature - seriously, you should see me with a paper cutter and more than one sheet of paper, it's hysterical - so I'm slowly figuring out how to keep the pouch stable while I pour (the conditioner is thin, but I still had to use a funnel). I used a straight iron on the lowest setting to seal and that worked beautifully. These might be my new favorite thing.

I don't have anything new to add, but on my list to do for the next two weeks will be foot scrubs, lip balms, and probably more shampoo bars.

Thank you - these look fantastic for making a refill of lotion for a friend who likes her bottle. Last time I filled a Wilton Piping Bag, but it was super precarious to heat seal and I’m not sure the seal would hold up to much. I’m going to get one to try! I will have to find something stable for a secondary container to put the bag in when I fill it, I certainly don’t want to repeat @AliOop Great Lotion Extravaganza!

Great minds... I tried that too... oh lord what a mess! My friend did tell me that it worked slick on his side to cut the tip and refill his bottle... but the headache on my side was enough that I went looking for something else. The plus side of these is that my friend travels a lot, so the spout makes it really convenient for him to pour off what he needs into his traveler, and not have to find a container for the whole refill.

Ahem, that may have been EXACTLY what happened to me when I tried the first fill... Good thing I had made extra for my husband (so he didn't get any because I spilled it...) and wasn't short on the customer batch.
