Hi! Newbie here who has only made two batches of soap so far, but has spent more time reading obsessively about soap making lately than she would care to admit, ha ha.

In an article by Kevin Dunn, he stated that in experimentation to reduce oxidation/rancidity in soap, the best results came from using BHT and Sodium Citrate at a rate of 0.1% PPO (it wasn't clear to me in the article if he meant 0.1.% of each additive or 0.1.% of the two combined). (Source: https://cavemanchemistry.com/DreadedOrangeSpot-Dunn.pdf )

However, in reading on this forum, I haven't really seen people post about doing this. I wonder if this is mostly because people who are interested in their own soap want, in general, to use more natural ingredients and get away from preservatives like BHT. Anyway, if you have used this combination successfully, I would be very interested in your process. Dunn's article doesn't really describe how the BHT + citrate were added.

Anyone? Thanks in advance.
