Your lotion bar molds are too cute, @KiwiMoose
Aren't they? They're chocolate molds I believe. 20g eachYour lotion bar molds are too cute, @KiwiMoose
I can't say for sure but I do believe that if a number of ingredients are below 1%, you can list them at the end in alphabetical order.I made a batch of honey and oats lotion. Now, if I can just figure out the ingredients label. I might need a thread for help because it's nothing like making a soap label. I cannot figure out how to list emulsifying wax NF and Optiphen Plus since they each have more than 1 ingredient themselves.
Do you list e-wax nf or separate into the individual ingredients and do the math to put them in the correct places in the list?I can't say for sure but I do believe that if a number of ingredients are below 1%, you can list them at the end in alphabetical order.
I list those kinds of things as one ingredient, like this:Do you list e-wax nf or separate into the individual ingredients and do the math to put them in the correct places in the list?
I just ordered Marie Gale's book, Soap and Cosmetic Labeling. Whether I ever sell or not, I want to label my soaps and lotion properly.
Thankyou! I considered listing that way but wasn't sure if that was right. Yay. Time to get to work. Nothing like last minute labeling. I want to label a small bottle of lotion to give as a sample when a customer stops by to pickup some soaps she ordered.I list those kinds of things as one ingredient, like this:
Emulsifying wax NF (ingredient 1, ingredient 2, ingredient 3)
Your preservative's INCI Name (ingredient 1, ingredient 2, ingredient 3)
It's Christmas day already here, so you're too late!Last night I knocked out 50 lip balms that will have to get labeled today. Today I've gotta get going on foot balm for Mrs. Zing. But I can relax and take a few minutes to catch up here, there's still several days to go til Christmas, righ -- oops, sorry, gotta go!
Donāt quote me on this, but I believe a lot of the websites where you buy ingredients (WSP, etc.) will tell you what the INCI name is.I made a batch of honey and oats lotion. Thank you, I figured it out. I was stuck on how to list emulsifying wax nf and figured out I don't have to separate that one as long as it's 'NF'. I used the INCI for Optiphen Plus.Donāt quote me on this, but I believe a lot of the websites where you buy ingredients (WSP, etc.) will tell you what the INCI name is.
Hey Misschief - hope you had a fab Christmas. I sell 'naked' lotion bars which are wrapped in a little tissue and then popped inside little boxes that my folded business cards come in:So... lotion bars. I made some to give as gifts to a couple of friends and neighbours. I packaged them in tins and have already heard back from a couple of the recipients; they love them. I have a question about packaging, though. I wrapped the bars (used a snowflake mold) and placed them in tins. One of my friends and I were discussing the packaging and she suggested having refills available, without the tins, as a means of saving money, both for me and for customers.
How do you package yours?
As an aside, that same friend has already said she wants at least two more already. And, that I should definitely make them to sell. I used this recipe from Whole Elise, scented with Rose Quartz from Village Candle.

Interesting!! I love the recycling. I have a box of 1000 business card boxes that my boss gave me a few years ago. Those would work. Thank you for the suggestion!Hey Misschief - hope you had a fab Christmas. I try to re-use everything that comes into the house in the way of packaging, so this was a happy outcome for me. Why on earth they pack my business cards into little boxes of 20 I will never know, but it's ended up being a useful product to have.
Sample bars? Purse size? Beside the bed? Glue them back together?Made a super-duper huge batch of lotion bars today. I have one silicone mold that is very thick and sturdy. It caused two of the bars to break as a i popped them out. Grrr. Should I have waited longer before unmolding do you think? I don't usually have that problem with the thinner silicone molds.
1) Already have sample barsSample bars? Purse size? Beside the bed? Glue them back together?
