I got the TD for oil from WSP, i tried 3/4 tsp with my 24oz batch, it just turned it from olive oil color to about a butter color, i would like to get it to a nice white color so when i add everything later it will blend/swirl well. Also i added it when all my oils were melted and it still didn't dissolve fully, there was still little white specks and a little streaking. is there anyway to avoid this and get my nice white color?

I have also heard it can make other colors brighter/bolder, how could i achieve this? thanks

I mix mine with about tbsp of warm tap water and make a slury, before adding it to my oils, I've never had a problem with specs doing it that way. I also use 1 heaping tbsp for about lbs of oils to get a really bright white.

I have both kinds of TD , oil and water dispersable. I couldn't mix the water type with oil, nor could I get a good mix by doing the oil type with water. But.... liquid glycerin seems like a good mixer for either kind.

Thanks guys TD is one of the only things that can lighten BDG soaps!

Are we sure it is totally safe for topical use in soap?

I love the results!!!

I just ordered some POP mica's, I believe those have TD in them too.
From what I understand TD has inhalation (in powder form) and ingestion issues.

But I really don't know what to think... It's in my toothpaste and milk...

If it's contained in the soap and the soap is used topically shouldn't it be okay? I mean I drink milk and brush my teeth several times a day...

OKAY!!! now im all confuzzeled, is TD bad to use?...along with all the "other things that are bad for you"

Well, I'm not really sure but breathing in the dust may cause health problems. I wouldn't want to drink it either but in a wash off product like soap, I wouldn't think it could cause any problems. It's an ingredient in many sun screens.

Yea,

I was suprised to hear that too. I've read that it is added to skim milk.

Rick, if you really want to drink skim milk just buy full fat milk and water it down. Really! You'll save a fortune.
