Here is my attempt at using cp and m&p together. Not quite what I was looking for but they smell lovely!
Honey FO half put into the cp half into the m&p.
The honey colour is the m&p, the White is the CP, I mixed one third of both for the middle, but as you can see it gelled with the heat and pushed the M&P around the sides.

So the bottom glossy part is only m&p and the middle is a mixture of m&p with cp? I was thinking about trying the same experiment. How long did you let the m&p set before you added the next layer?

Only a few moments That's probably why it's a bit mixed!! I've tried another one today, but the cp gelled and pushed the melt and pour up. I think I'll try another one and put it in the freezer to stop gell. Also the melt and pour is sweating which I don't like. How do I stop that ?

I've never worked with m&p before but I think you may be right about not gelling. It is probably too much heat for the m&p portion during gell. As far as sweating, I've been reading a little about it and it seems that even the 'low-sweat' m&p bases still sweat a little. So it may be unavoidable but minimized by using the right base.
