Used a stick blender to achieve trace. I think I used it for too long. It was chunky when I poured into the mold. I have covered with a towel and will unmold and slice tomorrow.

Will it be chunky or solid?

Update: I just took a peak at it. It seams to have turned into a solid and it has turned a toffee brown. I used crafters Drakkar Noir. That might have something to do with it.

Every time that accelerated trace happens, I write it down so that I will be aware of it next time I use the fo and not to panic. I had a very berry scent that accelerated and now the bar is a very dark color, but the FO was dark too. If you cut into the bar, you can see that I layered purple and pink and creamy color (or it WAS creamy colored should I say), so it only messed up my pretty dye job, the soap smells wonderful. lol

Turning a darker color is a normal thing and it is a result of the FO?

I don't think it is a "norma"l thing to go darker but some darker FO discolor the soap.

I have many FO's that havent even changed the color of my soap at all.

Is that FO darker?

It was clear when I poured it. It smells good now. Smells up my garage where my SWMBO relegated my chemical activities (lye) to. The color is an added bonus if everything else is normal.

It sounds like your FO has vanilla in it. Vanilla will always turn soap anywhere from tan to dark brown, depending on how much is in the FO.
