We made Edward's Temptation and Jacob's Desire this weekend. Bella's kiss soon to come! Fragrances from Wholesale Supply Plus. Does anyone know how to make a pink color from red oxide? I have red..no pink and I am thinking of doing purple, pink, black swirl for Bella's kiss. I also have titanium dioxide...which I have been putting in the base soap to keep it white. [/img]

I have been checking those out. I haven't bought them yet because i have been waiting on a few more reviews, reguarding color changes. Keep us posted. Good luck

Twilight Series

The Edward's Temptation and Jacob's Desire did not turn my soap a different color - We did add 2 tsp of titanium dioxide to the lye water. We worked with them at a light trace because of doing the swirl. I will try to post pictures. I was happy with the way the fragrances smelled.

upload pictures

How do I upload my pictures on here? I tried but it didn't work.

You know, you could take any fos or EOs you have on hand and name them whatever you like. I have a coconut bayrum I named pirate's booty. It would be easy enought to take your favorite fos and just rename them to reflect your favorites in the saga.

LOL!

I always imagine when a supplier has a scent they over-bought, or just can't sell they rename it something fabulous to make it move. LOL!

I soaped with Edward's Temptation last week at .6 PPO, and the scent has faded a lot. Still there, but very light. Might want to up it to 1 oz. PPO. My red streak (Santa red, supposedly--blood...muahahaha) turned purple. I have a red oxide coming soon; gonna try that to see if I can get a true red blood streak. I did a black swirl in TD base, with the red running through it. TD always gives me tiny pinpoint sized white specks that smear through the other colors when I cut no matter how much I mix it initially. Is there any other white out there besides TD powder? My niece (Twilight fanatic) suggested mixed earth tones with a bright purple streak for Bella, since she's not exactly a feminine "pink" kind of gal! Evidently, Jacob's fur is reddish brown. Oh, brother.....

I soaped Jacob's Desire last night at 1 oz. ppo. Holy guacamole... my kitchen still smells like it this morning. I'm not sure I care for it all that much; it is very heavy on musk (I am not into musky scents). The other notes, particularly Mandarin, pepper, and leather are strong too. I noticed just a teensy bit of acceleration, but I soap close to room temp so it was nothing to worry about. Color-wise, the bars are a light grayish tan color, compared to my base recipe (heavy on lard and coconut) which is stark white.

Edward has cured out to a nice scent level. I was afraid it was a goner. You're right...lots of musk in Jacob.

I would love to see pictures

I did Ed's Temptation with TD then covered the bar in irridescent glitter(cuz he sparkles...sigh...) then drizzled with red on top. It was a huge hit with my friends. The label had EC's pic and a quote from the book. Put in a cellophane bag with a black satin ribbon. Very crisp and "cold".

I came up with "Jacob's Desire" before they even had it on their site. I just used Mayan Gold for the scent. Again put Jake's pic on a more natural lable with a quote about Bella from the book. Bagged in cello tied with raffia for a more earthy look. I handed these out at the Eclipse party. Saw the movie at midnight. Needless to say I keep getting requests for more but these were just for fun.

I use a lot of red oxide-- it doesn't give a blood red, though. More of a brick red. And, if your soap has a lot of yellow to it from OO or any of the darker oils, the red oxide will make your soap a more orange-y rusty red. To kill the yellow-ness, you can try hitting the batter with a teeny amount of ultramarine blue oxide. Try to add the oxides early in the process to give yourself time to tint a few times to get it right.

I haven't ever gotten a true Christmas Red from my red oxide.[/u]

Love the pics! I'm kinda bummed they don't carry these anymore as I'd love to try some!

I'm a hopeless TwiMom

Giving this a bump, because MMS is carrying a collection of 12 Twilight Inspired oils:

Now that we're winding down to the first half of Breaking Dawn movie release, I've been really thinking about trying these. Would love to hear if anyone has soaped with them and get some reviews! :p

Only thing I'm disappointed in for this collection is that there isn't one for Renesmee, and as I'm more a book fan than the movies, would love to see one for the baby Cullen :?
