Thank you IrishLass.
You certainly have done your science on that one.

For straining, do you just us a regular stainless steel mesh sieve? Is there crystalline residue left in the strainer? How do you dispose of it?

I soap at room temp ... around 30 C (approx 90 F) in the summer. In winter I still soap at room temp, but put my moulds in the oven at 50 C for a couple of hours.

I do soap warmer when making 100% OO ... otherwise it takes too long to trace.

So I just unmoulded my most recent OO batch.

The single bars came out beautifully! No loss of pattern. Rich creamy appearance.

The slab mold was a little more difficult. When I went to cut the bars, the soap was so fragile that it stuck to the knife blade and ended up breaking chunks out of the soap edge. In future I will either wait an additional day for the slabs, or cut with a wire... or probably both.

In all, I think I will be using this method in the future for Castile if nothing else. I am very happy with the results on the texture of the soap.
