Hello all,

I am brand new to soap making and have not yet made my first soap. I am anxiously awaiting an order from Bramble Berry to do my first soaps. I am starting with melt and pour, but already have plans to go to CP and have been doing a fair amount of research on what I will need for it.

My name is Tarren and I went to a soap making class at a medieval event about eight or nine years ago. I have been interested in making soaps for a while just have not really had the opportunity and ambition to try it. I hope my friends like handmade soaps, because they will likely be getting a lot of them

Good on you for jumping in to have a go at soap making.

I regard myself as relatively new to the whole deal as well - been making now about 9 or 10 months or so. I stick with basic CP goats milk soap in cavity molds (unfragranced and uncoloured) and happy to say I'm now getting a pretty consistent result.

This forum is full of knowledgable and friendly people - and so much info. It's great to "wander about" looking at different posts and threads and pics.

Perhaps when I'm more confident, I'll have a crack at coloured and fragranced - and might even go for log molds to cut etc.

Anyway - I'm sure you'll have fun and learn heaps!

Welcome. I, too am new to the forum and mostly a lurker however I've commented on a few posts here and there. I haven't yet made my first cp batch but I've been dabbling in mp and other various items (bath bombs, lotion bars, sugar scrubs, etc) but I will be able to kick start my cp venture next week. I'm currently waiting on a few shipments from Columbus foods and Bramble Berry. Can't wait!!!!

Hi there, welcome! I'm about to make my first CP batch tomorrow or Monday. I'll post pics! We have tons of "soap porn" around here, so when you do your projects, indulge us too!

Welcome to the forum. Just a warning, soapmaking can lead to all kinds of addictive behavior such as lotion making, shampoo making etc. Have fun with your new hobby/addiction. LOL

@lsg I know what you mean. I haven't even started making soap yet, and I am already thinking about lip balms and candles!
