Today I boxed up all my cured soaps and have nothing left curing. I may just have to continue turning soaps weekly anyway. :) Okay, soapers, time to share a personal update. After 30 years – our entire adult lives -- in Chicago, my wife and I are moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota for family reasons. We were tormented making this decision, selling the home we raised our boys in and leaving friends and colleagues. But am excited to have a shared adventure with my wife and we do have a good network of friends and family waiting for us in the Twin Cities. So I’m packing up my soaping supplies for awhile so that we can focus on selling a home, buying a house, packing, and looking for two jobs (gah! writing all that makes me wanna hurl . I need to go check on my soaps again!). I may not be active here for awhile but will do my best to keep up with all your projects and progress. Happy soaping!

An exciting new chapter! My husband and I lived in Chicago for 20 years before deciding to migrate north and trade the city life for rural life (I miss the city terribly, but country living has its own advantages). It doesn't sound as though you are going quite as "country" as we did, but I wish you and your family all the best as you start this new adventure!

Tomorrow holds the promise of a loving God.

Life is an adventure and a journey. Enjoy the journey!

We lived in one house for 30 years and raised our children there before we moved. It all worked out better than I could have planned. We are also in the country now and the "kids"( 30 to 45 years old) enjoy visiting when they can.

Good luck with your move @Zing . As one who has lived in the Minneapolis area for most of my life, I think you will like it here. The winter weather won't be such a shock for you coming from Chicago.

We visit the Twin Cities a lot and love to visit long before we thought we'd live there. There's a lot to look forward to. And this South Dakota-raised-boy does not let any Chicagoan complain about winter!

welcome to MN to the Zings. Its hard to leave things like that behind but you aren't leaving memories behind, those are coming with you!!

Will miss seeing you regularly Zing! Hope everything about the move goes smoothly for you and wifey. Let us know when you can how things are going.

Will be sending out happy thoughts and good vibes from across the oceans :)
