Can someone please help me? I am new to the soap business and I am making soaps and selling them as consignment to local retailers-- nothing to big just to make extra money while in school. I need to know if I need a sales tax permit/license, if I need to have ingredient/warning labels, and what is is required to be on them for resale (business name, contact number/address, etc.) I am making candles as well if any one knows the legalities on this please help! Thanks! :)

You MUST have a resale tax permit before you sell even 1 bar & you MUST file & pay your sales tax yearly. The tax man came to my location to inform me of that & was none too nice about it!

Thank you! I have filed for a sales tax permit and I need to send in the signature paper. Other than that do I need to display any warning or ingredient labels on the packaging?
