Technique Ideas for Mold

So, I inherited a mold like this one with the dividers going across the short side.

I’d like to try it out, but have no idea which technique to use. Any suggestions?

Never seen that before. So I don't know what the official technique is called but what about making some small single cavity embeds like hearts or sea shells or whathaveyou and sticking them in the middle. And then as users use the soap, the embeds appear! Let's call it the Surprise technique.

Alternate different colors for each section then remove the dividers and swirl back and forth the long way? I've seen that style mold, but never looked at soaps that use it.

That’s what I was thinking too. Will have to be a 2-color repeating pattern, I think. I’ll try it this weekend and send updates

Hi @Nicolesica, I just ran across your post and, as luck will have it, recently watched this video.
She uses a mold similar to yours but with the addition of a center divider that goes lengthwise. Maybe this will be helpful or spark some inspiration.
Ok, so I can’t share the video but it’s by Tree Marie and called Swing Swirl CP Soap, it was posted 2 weeks ago.

As luck would have it, I put that particular mold away in my closet and forgot about it. Will watch the video and try it out!

The design looks like it should be simple but it’s not. You end up with a really pretty bar of soap.

That mold looks perfect for the swing swirl - it was July at Soap Challenge Club. Hope you try your mold and post about it, @Nicolesica

Yep, swing swirl! Since it was a Soap Challenge Club technique, there will be videos on YouTube, and posts on Instagram. You pour different colors between the dividers, pull something through the length of the mold, and then cut half way between each color. By that, I mean if each color is 1” wide, you would cut at 1/2 inch, then cut each bar 1” thick.
